Julia Mannain
- Team Leader, Lead Photographer, Director
Julia Mannain is attending her junior year at New Design High after attending private school in New Jersey. She is more comfortable back in Manhattan being born and raised in Hell's Kitchen. Julia's loves learning about evolution and how everything interacts with one another. She is inspired by her design classes and the beauty of design especially interior and clothing design. She currently resides in Midtown Manhattan just blocks from Times Square. Julia aspires to work with children and teens in her adulthood and is also interested in documentary film making. (Responcebilities) contacting different homeless shelters in search of kids for our video as well as photography for the video, director and producer.
Donnette Walker
Donnette is a year four student at New Design High School in the Lower East side of Manhattan. She grew up in the Bronx where she was born and raised. Donnette’s favorite subjects are English, Design and Living Environment. She loves all these subjects because they interest her and she understands them more than her other school subjects. Donnette is known for being very loud and outspoken. She doesn’t like to be ignored so she raises her loud voice so EVERYBODY can hear her. Donnette loves to go shopping. It’s like her ultimate favorite hobby and she never gets tired of shopping. She also loves hanging out with her friends. They keep her laughing, and whenever she feels sad, they’re always there to comfort her. Donnette’s main goal in life is to be the best she can be in life and to never give up on her dreams. Lately Donnette has been interested in culinary arts she is thinking about becoming a chef. (Responsibilities) Director, Producer
Chabeli Gil
- Director, Interviewer and Key Grip
Meet Chabeli Gil, that's her full name but she prefers to be called Chaley because she hates when she has to repeat herself and it's short. Chaley was born and raised in best borough in New York City, the borough where hip-hop was born, the boogie down Bronx. She is a proud of being a Bronx native, and has seen the borough transform over the years. Chaley is extremely outgoing and makes a big impression everywhere she goes. Chaley's birthday is on March 22, 1994. She is senior at New Design High School. Every time some one asks her what school she goes to she will always say, " I go to New Design, the best school ever." Chaley background is Dominican and Native American. Chaley loves her family and her closest friends because they are always there for her. Although she is only seventeen, she has been through alot in the past. During her sophomore year of high school Chaley's mother decided to move to the Dominican Republic with her two little sisters for 6 months. This transition was very difficult for Chaley, she bounced around to families houses while her mom was away and missed being around her loving family. Even though if was difficult having her mom away, this time alone made Chaley realize how important it is to be independent. She has big dreams to get out of New York City and attend college in upstate New York so she can grow as an independent woman. She hopes to study business and become a CEO of an international fashion business.
Kiara Parra
- Director, Producer, Marketing and Sound Design
Kiara Adrianne Parra is a Senior at New Design High School. Kiara lives in the West Village with her mother, father, two brothers and older sister. Kiaras family is very close knit and she values family very much. Her parents are of Ecuardorian descent, she has been there as a child and hopes to travel back there someday. Kiara is an extremely easy going and can get along with just about anybody. This her first time Kiara in Scott's Mediastorm class. This will also be the first time she is making a film with her classmates. She is interested in creating a film about domestic violence and its impact on teenagers. She hopes to graduate in the Class of 2012 and leave off to college. She hopes to attend University Plattsburgh in Fall of 2012 and study to become a Nurse.
